Galley Head Lighthouse
Standing proudly on a rugged headland near Clonakilty, Galley Head Lighthouse is one of West Cork’s most dramatic landmarks. Built in the 19th century, this lighthouse continues to guide ships along Ireland’s spectacular Wild Atlantic Way. The lighthouse sits on Duneen Head, also called Dun Deidi, a site once fortified by the Normans and later held by the O’Cowhig Clan. The cliffs here drop sharply into the Atlantic, offering some of the most stunning views in Cork.
This card in Botin Ireland, our bilingual Irish-English board game, is a brilliant way to explore Cork’s coastline while learning a little Gaeilge.
