How to Play BOTIN IRELAND

BOTIN IRELAND is more than just a board game — it’s a bilingual journey across Ireland. As you play, you’ll learn Irish and English words, explore real towns and landmarks, and experience the culture in a fun and competitive way. The game is designed for families, schools, and anyone who wants to discover Ireland while practicing Irish Gaelic.

The Goal of the Game

The game is played between two sides: the Robbers and the Police.

  • Robbers move around the board trying to collect money and escape.

  • Police move to catch them before they succeed.

Along the way, every stop on the board teaches you something new about Ireland — from castles and cathedrals to famous writers and local legends. Each card brings history to life and helps with Irish pronunciation.

Game Setup

  1. Place the board in the center and shuffle the Game Cards.

  2. Choose who will play as Robbers and who will play as Police.

  3. Each player rolls the dice to begin their journey.

Every move takes you to a different Irish location. When you land, you pick up a card. The card will tell you about the place, its history, and give you Irish words to practice.

Playing the Game

  • Robbers’ Mission: Collect as much money as possible, then escape before being caught.

  • Police Mission: Work together to stop the Robbers by catching them on the board.

Each card has a link on our online travel guide, where you’ll find videos, extra information, and audio in Irish and English.
